Real people answering your call
Our UK Monitoring Centre
When your loved one presses the SOS button, it is answered by a trained, compassionate member of our team at our Alarm Receiving Centre in Southport, UK. Not a call centre overseas. Not a recorded message. A real person with your family member’s name, medical notes, and emergency contacts already on screen before the call connects. Our centre is TSA accredited, TEC QSF certified, and Cyber Essentials certified. Meet our monitoring team.

Important Information
Mobile Signal Requirements
This device requires a mobile signal to connect to our Care Team. In areas with no mobile signal, an alarm call cannot be made, two-way voice will not work, and your location cannot be identified — in the same way a mobile phone cannot make a call without signal. Our devices will operate on weaker signals, however a 4G connection is recommended for the fastest possible response.
Pacemakers and Implanted Cardiac Devices
If you have a pacemaker or other implanted cardiac device, keep the watch at least 15cm (6 inches) away from the device at all times. We recommend wearing the watch on the opposite wrist from your pacemaker — for example, on your right wrist if your pacemaker is on the left side. This follows international safety standards ISO 14117 and IEC 60601-1-2 covering electromagnetic compatibility for medical devices. Modern pacemakers are designed with strong shielding, but maintaining this distance ensures safe and comfortable use. If you have any concerns, please consult your GP or the manufacturer of your pacemaker before use.
Product Appearance
The device you receive may look slightly different from the images shown on this page. All devices supplied have the same features and functionality as described.
Fall Detection Limitations
Fall detection is highly accurate but may not detect all fall types (e.g. slow slides from a chair). It may occasionally trigger during vigorous activity. It offers an extra layer of protection, but wherever possible, the SOS button should be pressed to ensure help is requested.
Response Time
99.6% of alarm calls are answered within 60 seconds. This is a measured figure recorded across live alarm activations, not a target or estimate. In the rare cases where response takes slightly longer, our team continues to monitor until help arrives.

Does the watch need a smartphone, Wi-Fi, or landline?
No. The watch works completely independently using its built-in 4G SIM. No smartphone, Wi-Fi, or landline is required.
What happens when the SOS button is pressed in an emergency?
Instantly connects to our UK-based monitoring team. Two-way communication happens through the watch, the situation is assessed immediately, and family or emergency services are contacted if needed.
How quickly do you respond?
99.6% of SOS calls are answered in under 60 seconds by our UK-based monitoring team, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We stay on the line, carry out regular check-in calls, and do not end the contact until your loved one is in safe hands.
Does it work outside the house?
Yes. It works anywhere with mobile signal, and GPS allows us to locate the user if needed.
Can it be worn in the shower?
Yes. The watch is IP67 waterproof and shower safe. We recommend wearing it around the clock — including in the shower, as this is where many falls happen. No need to take it off.
How accurate is the fall detection?
Fall detection uses advanced motion sensors to identify sudden impacts. It is highly accurate for most types of falls. However, slow slides from a chair or very gradual losses of balance may not always be detected. We always recommend pressing the SOS button if you are able to — fall detection is an additional safety net, not a replacement for the button. Our monitoring team is available 24/7 whenever the alarm is triggered, automatically or manually.
What if the SOS button is pressed accidentally?
We will speak through the device to confirm everything is OK. There are no penalties or charges.
What if the user cannot speak?
We treat it as an emergency and escalate immediately.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 72 hours depending on use. Low battery alerts are included, and we recommend daily charging.
Is there a contract?
Monthly plans have no contract and can be cancelled at any time by phone or email — we confirm cancellation within 24 hours. Annual plans are paid upfront and save over £24 compared to paying monthly. There are no exit fees or penalties on either plan.
Can I order more than one device?
Yes. You can order a second device at half price for the same household under one bill payer.
What is included in the box?
The Smart Safety Watch arrives fully pre-configured and ready to wear. The box includes: the watch, magnetic charging dock, Type-C USB cable, UK charging plug, pre-installed 4G SIM card (activated), and a quick-start guide. Delivery is free and next-day on all orders.
Is it ready for the 2027 digital switchover?
Yes — completely. All Holden Grange devices are 4G and require no landline or broadband. The 2027 analogue telephone switchover will not affect them in any way. They are already future-proof.
Can I try it before committing?
Yes. We offer a 30-day trial. You try the watch at home for 30 days — if it is not right for any reason, simply return it. No first payment is taken until the trial period ends.
Is VAT exemption available?
Yes. Users with a long-term illness or disability — including arthritis, heart disease, COPD, dementia, Parkinson's, diabetes, epilepsy, and many other conditions — qualify for 20% VAT relief. No paperwork or doctor's note needed. Simply declare at checkout. This saves £5.20 per month on the standard plan.
Is this suitable for someone with dementia?
Yes. The automatic fall detection means an alarm is triggered even if the person cannot press the button. GPS tracking helps locate someone who may have wandered. The device requires no interaction beyond wearing it. Call us to discuss specific needs: 01704 332840
What is the 4G signal requirement?
Our devices use 4G mobile signal and work wherever there is mobile coverage in the UK. In areas with very weak signal, performance may be reduced — the same as a mobile phone in a low-signal area. Our devices use a multi-network roaming SIM which automatically selects the strongest available network.
Can I book a call to discuss?
Yes. Tim is available including evenings and weekends. Book at: calendly.com/tim-hillman-holdengrange/30min
Can family see the GPS location?
Yes. Family members can see the GPS location through our monitoring platform. Call 01704 332840 or book a call with Tim to set this up — takes minutes.
